Now Comes The “Trikiny”

“QUARANTINI BIKINI” – Bizarre coronavirus trend of bikinis with matching FACE MASKS.

The trikini first appeared briefly in 1967, described at the time as “a handkerchief and two small saucers.”

It reappeared a few years ago as a bikini bottom paired with a stringed halter, made of two triangular pieces of cloth covering the breasts.

In Summer 2005, Dolce & Gabbana designed trikinis as three pieces of shimmering fabric that barely covered the wearer, pushing the limits of daring beachwear.

Another variation includes a conventional two-piece with a glitzy band of rhinestones around the waist, adding sparkle to the classic bikini.

Israeli designer Gideon Oberson, known for his artistically inspired bathing suits, calls a two-piece suit that resembles a tank top—which can be worn with a skirt or shorts—a trikini.

Brazilian designer Amir Slama refers to two scraps of silk connected with string, designed for slim women, as a trikini.

Recently, during the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic, a new variation of the trikini emerged: two pieces for the body plus a matching face mask. This idea was first designed by Italian designer Tiziana Scaramuzzo, initially as a joke, but it quickly became a real trend.

Just for fun, I created a prototype of the Ucan Trikini to delight all my followers. Doesn’t it look fun? I can’t help but wonder—how will all the sunbathers look with these creative tan lines?
